Patricia has published two best-selling books about her journeys and is currently writing about her latest. She has spoken at the World Economic Forum in Davos among other conferences. At TEDxStellenbosch, Patricia shares the fascinating story of the late Dawid Kruiper and his family. Having spent two months trekking through the Kalahari with Dawid and the Khomani Bushmen, Patricia provides a close look at the lives of the original people to inhabit Southern Africa and their tragic treatment over the last century. She draws valuable lessons from the Khomani Bushmen and the strong connection they have with the environment and the people around them.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
