Treating Malnutrition in Haiti with Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Foods

June of 2008, Dr. Joseline Marhone Pierre, the director of the Coordination Unit for the National
Food and Nutrition Program of Haiti’s Ministry of Health and Population (MSPP), met with representatives
from a consortium of three non-‐‑governmental organizations (NGOs). The consortium had completed a six

community-‐‑based care model with ready-‐‑to-‐‑use therapeutic foods (RUTF).
