What is moving the Haitian gourdes at record lows?

In a country like Haiti, where the majority lives under $2 a day, inflation means starvation, currency devaluation  against the dollar, when the majority of food is imported means serious erosion of purchasing power and more starvation. There is not “recession” when there is not discretional income. There is starvation.
